Holt Eye Care
Holt Eye Care was established in 2002 by the husband and wife team of Dr. Brian Houser and Dr. Amy Cousineau. They both desired a practice where a friendly, community-focused atmosphere would be accomplished. Our doctors offer medical eye care management for conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration. Our specialty services include pediatrics, emergency eye care, and custom eyeglasses and contact lenses. In October 2018, Dr. Tom Hall joined our team of doctors. He sees patients at Holt Eye Care as well as Downtown Lansing at Draper Eyewear.
Dr. Houser and Dr. Cousineau expanded the practice to include additional well-established eye care practices, known as Draper Eyewear, which is considered a sister company of Holt Eye Care. Draper Eyewear has two locations. One is located in the newly remodeled Knapp Building in Downtown Lansing and the second location is in the Professional Building at McLaren Hospital.
Draper Eyewear was first established in Downtown Lansing in 1969 by Dick and Winnie Draper. In the mid 1980's, a second location was purchased on Greenlawn Avenue near McLaren Hospital (known then as Ingham Optical).
Draper Eyewear started as an eyeglass dispensing shop only. There was no doctor until 1990 when Rich Murdock purchased the business. Rich Murdock had worked for the Drapers for 15 years as an optician before establishing the practice as his own.
Draper Eyewear was purchased by the husband and wife team of Dr. Brian Houser and Dr. Amy Cousineau in 2008. Dr. Houser and Dr. Cousineau expanded their Holt Eye Care practice, by purchasing Draper Eyewear. They are considered sister companies.
